The Brahmaso Organization is the largest funeral assistance organization in Mandalay. It was established on May 7, 1998, under the name Brahmaso Social Assistance Organization. The organization’s headquarters are located on a 200-foot plot of land within a school compound, granted by Taung Salin Sayadaw U Tikha, who also serves as the organization's patron. Early supporters included Nadi Myanmar U Aung Khaing and Daw Nyo Mi’s family, who generously donated a hearse. Since April 4, 2000, the organization has expanded its mission to include providing medical assistance to those in need. Daw Ama (Ludu) was another key figure in the organization’s early development, serving as a patron and offering guidance. In addition to offering free funeral services, the organization provides financial aid to patients who are unable to afford hospital expenses. Recently, Brahmaso opened a clinic that offers free medical treatment. Prior to the clinic’s opening, the organization supported patients at hospitals with financial aid amounting to approximately 200,000 kyats per day, according to Sein Win (Ludu). More than two years ago, a donor contributed land for the construction of a hospital. However, the project was halted due to a lack of government approval, and only the clinic is currently in operation. The Brahmaso Organization's efforts have had a significant impact across Upper Myanmar, although the exact number of beneficiaries is not yet recorded.
